Overview

aGrep again ("the app") is a text search utility for Android. It searches through text files stored on your device and displays the results locally. The app is designed to operate entirely offline.

Data Collection

aGrep again does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data or usage information.

Specifically, the app:

Does not require or use an internet connection (no INTERNET permission)
Does not include any analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry SDKs
Does not contain advertisements or ad-related tracking
Does not access your contacts, location, camera, microphone, or any sensors
Does not create user accounts or require registration
Does not transmit any data to any server

Storage Access

The app requests permission to read files on your device storage in order to search through them. This is the core function of the app. File contents are read locally and never leave your device. Search history and preferences (such as selected directories and file extensions) are stored locally on your device using Android's SharedPreferences and are not transmitted anywhere.

Third-Party Services

aGrep again does not use any third-party services, SDKs, or libraries that collect user data. The app's dependencies are limited to Android Jetpack libraries (AppCompat, Material Components, DocumentFile, Lifecycle, Preference) and juniversalchardet (a character encoding detection library). None of these perform data collection or network communication.

Children's Privacy

The app does not collect any data from any users, including children under 13 years of age.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated date. Since the app has no network capability, it cannot notify users of policy changes in-app.
